Object description :

"Pair Of Pastel Portraits Of Children, 18th Century "
Pair of portraits from the end of the 18th century, representing a little girl and her brother playing at the house of cards, in a stucco frame from the beginning of the 19th century. These pastels were found framed as is, in the house, located in the Alps of Haute Provence. Some small chips are to be noted in the original gilding. One could regret these late frames, nevertheless they seem to be like open windows with a certain distance or nostalgia, on a bygone world, that of the old regime.
