Maurice Vagh Weinmann was the brother of Elemer Vagh Weinmann and Nándor Vagh Weinmann.
He was born into a family of ten children in a dreary suburb of Budapest, dotted with factories and vacant lots, crisscrossed by railways, where his father, a jeweler, led a precarious existence. In 1932, he arrived in France with his brothers Nandor and Elemer. With them, he hid during the German occupation in the city of Toulouse. He worked in partnership with his two brothers, Nándor and Elemer. Some works painted together are known. The subjects are the same tormented landscapes or spirited but faithful portraits.
