A foundling in Toulouse, William Didier-Pouget was registered in the civil registry under the name of Didier William, then was adopted by Antoine Paul Jules Edgard Pouget, a publicist, and his wife Anna Clémence Cayla.
A student of Amédée Baudit, Louis-Augustin Auguin and Maxime Lalanne, his career began in 1886 when his painting L’Étang de Cernay was noticed at the Salon des Artistes français.
He won a medal at the 1900 Universal Exhibition, then won a gold medal at the 1913 Universal Exhibition in Ghent.
He mainly produced views of the southwest of France, focusing on light and color.
