Clock "water Fountain" Era Empire Izac
Empire period clock circa 1810 signed on the dial "Izac Toulouse",
clockmaker referenced in the Tardy, dictionary of French clockmakers.
In mercury-gilded bronze with gold, very finely chiseled in an aquatic
decoration such as, in the center, a fountain with a Bacchus head, the
water pouring into a helmet, frieze on the facade of fish and decorated
at the top with swans framing a flame. Two draped cherubs brandish a
laurel branch, they frame the domed dial in white enamel. Hexagonal
base resting on four round feet.
Original mechanism without modification, wire suspension, striking of the hours and half-hour on an old bell.
