Refined pair of ornamental vases crafted from finely shaped French red marble, set on molded bases in marble and finely chiseled gilt bronze. These vases, richly decorated and of neoclassical taste, date from the Napoleon III period, around 1860–1870, and represent a perfect example of the decorative eclecticism typical of the era.
The fluted marble bodies have an elegant ovoid shape, enhanced by spectacular gilt bronze mounts: female masks with radiating Empire-style headdresses, floral garlands, and shell motifs adorning the neck and base. The pedestals, also in bronze, feature finely worked acanthus leaves, scrolls, and ornamental cartouches.
The contrast between the deep red marble and the warm gold of the bronze creates a striking visual impact, making these objects ideal for classical interiors, historical salons, or 19th-century decorative art collections.
Very good condition, with light signs of age consistent with authenticity. As shown in the photos, a reinforcement intervention has been carried out on the lower layer of the marble base.
