Multiple Reliquary in Gilded Brass – Relic of the Virgin and Saints – dated 1782 - Bruges - Belgium

Authentic round reliquary in gilded brass, containing several relics of saints and the Blessed Virgin Mary, dated 1782 on the back, with ecclesiastical seal in red wax and red cords authenticating the whole.

Description

The visible face is decorated with stylized floral motifs, on a guilloché gold background. Each relic is inserted in a rosette surrounded by colored petals (blue or pink) with a handwritten name carefully calligraphed around it.

Sanctae Clarae V. (Saint Clare, foundress of the Poor Clares)
Sanctae Colette Virgin. (Saint Colette, reformer of the Poor Clares)
Sanctae Rosae Confess. (Saint Rose, probably Saint Rose of Lima)
Sancti Antonii P. (Saint Anthony of Padua, Franciscan and Doctor of the Church)
Sancti Bonaventuraeb (Saint Bonaventure, Franciscan cardinal, Doctor of the Church)
