"Royal Dux Manufacture, Deer And Pine Cone Vase"
Royal Dux is a renowned porcelain manufacturer based in Duchcov (formerly Dux), Czech Republic. The company has a long and rich history, dating back to its founding in 1853. Most famous for its figurative and decorative porcelain works, the manufactory primarily produces elaborate figurines, busts, ornate vases, and centerpieces in the Neoclassical and Art Nouveau styles. Royal Dux pieces are highly sought after by collectors, especially those from the Art Nouveau period, and are prized for their craftsmanship, artistic design, and historical significance. Our large glazed porcelain vase gives it a smooth, glossy appearance. Its elongated, slender shape features a distinctive Art Nouveau style characterized by curved, organic lines and nature-inspired designs. Its dominant color is pale, almost celadon-like blue or a very soft gray-blue. Its concave and convex curves create an elegant silhouette. At the center of the upper part of this vase is an oval relief medallion in which the head of a deer can be seen in profile. This relief is subtle, giving an impression of depth and textures emphasized by the stylized motifs carved in relief and painted in pale beige, representing pine cones. Our vase is stamped with one of the most recognizable features of Royal Dux pieces: a trademark in the shape of a raised pink triangle, applied to the base of the object. This serves as a certificate of authentication and often includes the inscription “Royal Dux Bohemia” around an oval with a letter (which changed during different production periods)
