Description
The handwritten inscription inside clearly states: “Ex Oss. / S. Petri Apost.” or: “Of the bones of Saint Peter the Apostle”.
The relic rests on a red textile background and is protected by a beveled glass, still sealed on the reverse by a red ecclesiastical wax seal still intact, ensuring its authenticity.
Filigree silver mount richly decorated with vegetal scrolls, surmounted by a large stylized shell.
The reliquary is accompanied by an antique embroidered ribbon, typical of 18th century liturgical or processional objects.
