"Crown Of The Virgin, Silver, Enamel, France 19th Century "
Virgin's crown in cast, chased and enameled silver. The base is slightly oval with a heavily openwork rim; in the center, a blue enameled band decorated with stylized acanthus foliage and turquoise cabochons. The animated framework is formed of six arcades whose lower parts are represented in the form of stylized purple enameled palmettes, ending with fleur-de-lis, alternating with petals with the same palmette decoration, but slightly smaller, white enameled and decorated with green and red viroterie cabochons. Six winged angel heads, executed in high relief and chased, complete the decoration. The upper parts with black enameled channels are connected and form a beaded pedestal, decorated with faceted amethyst-colored cabochons, surmounted by a starry sky blue enameled cruciform globe, with a glorious cross chiseled and garnished mainly with rose-cut diamonds.
