Object description :

"Antique Bohemian Glass Tea Set, Attributed To Moser, Karlsbad, C. 1890"
A fine and collectible Bohemian glass tea set, attributed to Moser, Karlsbad, c. 1890. The set includes six cobalt blue cups with matching saucers, decorated in raised enamel and fine gilding. The floral and foliate ornamentation is typical of Moser’s late 19th-century production, executed with precision and artistic refinement.                                                                                          The glass has been expertly wheel-cut, polished, and finished with gold and coloured enamel in relief, a technique strongly associated with Moser’s output for royal households and international exhibitions. The workshop received numerous awards, including Vienna (1873), Paris (1889), and Chicago (1893). The set’s quality and sculptural detailing distinguish it even among luxury Venetian wares.                                                                                                                    Similar examples are preserved in museum collections, including the Corning Museum of Glass, the Victoria and Albert Museum, the Museum of Decorative Arts in Berlin, and the Kunsthistorisches Museum in Vienna.                                                                                                        Moser supplied his luxurious glassware to numerous royal courts, including those of the Austro-Hungarian Empire, the Ottoman Sultan, the Shah of Persia, and the British royal family. Condition and Dimensions Saucers: diameter 12.8 cm, height 2.8 cm. Minor gilt wear to rims; three saucers with small edge chips; one with a 1.5 mm loss to the gilt base. Cups: height 7 cm, top diameter 8.6 cm. One cup with restored stem; minor gilt wear to rims. Overall, the set is in very good antique condition. All flaws are minor and only visible upon close inspection. The ensemble remains highly decorative and suitable for advanced collectors. Please study the accompanying photographs carefully as they form an integral part of this description. If you have any questions, we will be happy to answer them. The item will be shipped with full tracking and insurance. It is important to note that shipping costs include labour, packaging and postage.
