A refined pair of late twentieth-century Hong Kong porcelain boxes made for the Western market. Dense porcelain bodies, bright famille-rose enamels and pseudo-armorial lids give the pair a coherent decorative presence suited to modern or eclectic interiors.
The bases carry two characteristic Hong Kong export marks linked to the You Xian Ju Jianzhi circle: an auspicious four-character formula on one box, and a figurative seal on the other.
These studio-made Hong Kong pieces were produced in small batches and are known for their clean execution, vivid enamels and stable gilding.
