Dressed in a black velvet doublet with a white collar peeking out, this young and handsome man wears embroidered puffy breeches over silk stockings. His sword gripped in his left hand, a long red cloak covers his arm.
French painter, he was a student of Léon Cogniet. He made his debut in 1853 at the Paris Salon with a large portrait but later devoted himself to history and genre painting.
