Netsuke - The Clam's Dream - Ornate Clam With Figures - Porcelain - 19th Century

Anabori netsuke in Hirado porcelain, depicting an ornate, half-open clam, revealing three figures and a staircase inside. This is probably the subject known as the "dream of the clams", that is to say a palace scene at Ryujin, the god of the sea in Shinto mythology.
Light blue enamel on the clothes of the characters.

Japan, 19th century.
Good condition, note however a small lack on the body of the character located to the right of the shell.
