Kongo command stick, the upper part of which is carved bone, representing the seated chief, his headdress, decorated with nails and cowrie shells constituting the pommel, twisted copper wires wind around the staff, also decorated with silvered nails. Democratic Republic of Congo, Kongo ethnic group. 1940-60.
