Exceptional and very rare bronze rocaille style clock created by the sculptor and ornomentalist Léon Messagé (1841 - 1901).
He is known for his collaboration with François Linke (1855 - 1946) for the Universal Exhibition which took place in Paris in 1900.
Thanks to their alliance ; Léon Messagé had a huge success at the end of the 19th century.
An identical clock is published in the book by François Linke written and published by Christopher Payne; page 93.
