FIREFIGHTER HELMET TYPE 1852, SECOND EMPIRE. Entirely in brass, bomb surmounted by a crest stamped with a decreasing series of gadroons, front plate stamped in relief with an eagle on a background of flags surmounting a ribbon marked SAPEUR-POMPIER DE SAINT DIE. Mobile visor stamped with two crossed axes. Brass chinstraps stamped with flat scales, round rosette. Inner cap missing. Later scarlet rooster feather plume. Good general condition. I note a shock on the crest, interior missing and small dents from use. visible on the photos.
