Milan, early 20th century
Cast, chased and partially gilded silver – Total weight: 17 kg
Pair of candelabra in a neoclassical-baroque style, crafted in solid silver and richly decorated. Each piece features seven scrolled arms adorned with foliage and naturalistic details, ending in conical bobeches with gadroon and garland motifs.
The central shaft, shaped like a column entwined with ivy, is embellished with three ram heads in high relief—symbols of strength and sacrifice. The tripod base rests on three rampant lions, sculpted with remarkable realism and vitality.
An extraordinary example of silversmithing that combines ornamental opulence, symbolic power and exceptional craftsmanship.
