Beautiful regulation naval saber of the "1837 model type". French manufacture: HOSTIN dated 1989. Special steel blade with two grooves, length 69 cm, total length including scabbard 89 cm, metal scabbard covered with black leather. The handle in black material (horn or rhodoid) with eleven grooves. The guard and the bronze and brass fittings are gilded. The openwork shell of the guard is decorated with water leaf scrolls surrounding an anchor. The cap is decorated with the same leaves and a shield. The blade of the special steel saber is with two grooves. Beautiful French manufacture which does honor to our companies. Black lanyard for midshipmen and senior petty officers - from the rank of chief petty officer to that of major. Good condition. Regulatory model and approved by the French Navy, given by the Naval Academy for officers of the 1989 class in official ceremonies.
