Elegant French guéridon from the second half of the 19th century, crafted in gilt and patinated bronze, featuring a circular top in veined amethyst with a central medallion in yellow jasper. The edge is adorned with a silver fillet and a pierced bronze gallery decorated with interlaced ring motifs.
The three patinated bronze legs are topped with finely cast eagle heads holding rings in their beaks, and terminate in naturalistic claw feet – a clear reference to the neoclassical, Empire-inspired ornamental language. The legs are joined by a double stretcher with floral bronze medallions at the intersections.
An exquisite piece, perfectly embodying the refined eclecticism and superb craftsmanship of the Napoleon III period, steeped in classical revival and Parisian opulence.
