Bead: Middle East (Bactria?) - 2nd-1st millennium BC - 31.9 x 28.5 mm.
Turquoise: Qajar culture - 19th century - 15 x 12 mm.
Modern 18K gold setting (hallmarked). Total weight: 16.88 g.
Gold pendant comprising a beautiful lozenge-shaped bead in white, gray, and brown zoned agate, and an engraved and gilded Persian (Qajar) turquoise. The collar on the bead has a fine radiating pattern, the clawed bezel setting the turquoise is hammered on the sides.
The turquoise has the inscription Janam which means "My darling".
