Hermès, Porcelain Ashtray, 20th Century
Rectangular porcelain ashtray, white in color and decorated with golden motifs. In its center, a motif of a tree branch with a few leaves. This central motif is surrounded by a line tracing the contours of the bottom of the ashtray. The edge of the ashtray is decorated with golden plant motifs representing what appear to be brambles, with leaves, going all the way around the ashtray. The ends of the ashtray are also decorated with a line delimiting the contours of the ashtray.
The inscription “HERMÈS for EUGĖNE PERRIN” is on the side. Eugène Perrin founded Tissages Perrin in 1929, a company specializing in silk work.
This object is in good condition but it shows a slight attenuation of the branch motif in the center of the ashtray.
