"The Merchant Of Loves Wallendorf 1765 Enameled Biscuit"
The Merchant of Loves is a fresco from the Villa Arianna (Stabiae) from the middle of the 1st century AD. The fresco was the subject of numerous copies and imitations throughout the 19th century, that of Joseph-Marie Vien, with the work entitled "The Merchant of Loves", produced in 1763 is preserved at the Château de Fontainebleau. "The Merchant of Loves" is here a magnificent group in enamelled biscuit, of exceptional quality, finesse, monochrome colors, a matron, two courtesans, a winged cupid and two puttos in a basket of roses with multiple details.
