Redingote And Breeches, Late 18th Century Directory, “siamese” Fabric

- A very young man's frock coat, from the Directoire period, in "Siamoise" fabric with long, dominant green stripes on a mauve background, creating a variation of tones that makes it a very luminous garment.
This frock coat has 15 period buttons, round and flat metal, each surrounded by a frieze of inverted pearls:
3 placed on the front of the plastron, the first is in its buttonhole for fastening; then 3 are placed below the cuff of each pocket (making 6); 2 are on each cuff of the sleeves (making 4); and 2 are on the back at the top of the tailcoat.

This narrow frock coat, for a very young man, is the result of a specific recut of an adult frock coat for a young man, a common practice at that time of clothing readaptation.

- Rare breeches, a very beautiful garment from the same Directoire period, in particularly luminous "Siamoise" fabric, yellow in color with stripes of two different weaves; These panties are in exceptional condition.
These panties have a so-called "bridge" front, a wide front that opens with two buttons, one on the left and the other on the right. At the bottom of each calf, to allow for closure, are five buttons of the same fabric, and a tab for final tightening of the calf.
