18th Century Burgundy Tin Flour Kettle
Pewter flour pot or butter pot from Burgundy, early 18th century. The lid fits onto a barrel-shaped body; the two handles are console-shaped. Height 36 cm / diameter of the opening under the lid 21 cm. 2 hallmarks on the outside bottom, one master's mark and one control mark, are very difficult to read; it is probably a Dijon hallmark. Beautiful patina with some traces of use, inevitable on such an object. A nearly identical flour pot appears in the work of Roger Verdier
