These paintings on sago palm bark decorate the inner faces of roofs as well as the pediments of ceremonial houses and represent in an abstract or figurative way the ancestors or beliefs of the clans. Here evocation of an owl. Assembled together, they thus cover the ceilings of these large prestigious huts.
