Kwoma pottery used in a fertility cult related to the yam harvest and used as a ceremonial flute. Collected in the village of Mino in Papua New Guinea. The shape of this pottery is reminiscent of the yam itself, a sacred tuber. This engraved terracotta flute produces a very good sound and is sold with a presentation stand. Approx. 15 x 8 cm / €240 including stand and shipping.
