PAIR ANTIQUE FRENCH NAPOLEON COPPER SILVERPLATED CANDLESTICK CANDELABRA EMPIRE ERA
This exquisite pair of antique French repousse copper silver-plated candlesticks from the Empire era showcases remarkable craftsmanship and opulent design. The candlesticks feature elaborate floral and geometric patterns meticulously worked into the metal. Repoussé copper silver-plated candlesticks are hammered from the reverse side to create intricate raised designs. These candelabra are filled with sand for added stability and weight. Since copper and silver plating are relatively lightweight materials, filling the candlesticks helped prevent the candlesticks from tipping over easily. The method used on these, ensures us that they are genuine from the early 19th century (circa 1800). Their round bases are adorned with a refined leaf motif, harmonizing beautifully with the textured and engraved details along the stems. The empire style, known for its grandeur and neoclassical influences, is evident in the symmetry and ornamentation of these candlesticks. Their silver plating adds an elegant touch, while the rich patina on the copper highlights their age and authenticity. Each weighs 685 gramms/1.51lbs. Presence of goldsmith's mark at the base.
