"Pair Of Louis XVI Style Bergere Chairs In Molded And Carved Beech. Early 20th Century"
Early 20th century work. Charming pair of Louis XVI style bergères in molded and carved beech. The wood, elegantly painted and patinated, has a beautiful, slightly aged color that highlights the finesse of the moldings and sculptures. The seats are beautifully made, with pegged joints, a guarantee of quality and solidity. The whole demonstrates impeccable craftsmanship, with great precision in the adjustments. The bergères are covered with a superb Louis XVI style fabric with stripes and floral garlands, perfectly preserved in the taste of Lelievre's Sanary. The traditional upholstery (springs, horsehair and feathers for the cushions) as well as the seat wood, is in excellent condition. Comfortable and decorative, they can fit into a classic interior as well as a more eclectic setting. French work from tyoe faubourg or from some manufacturers like Mailfert, early 20th century.
