Object description :

"Mara Rucki, Born In 1920, Painting "the Blue Boat", 1970s."
Mara Lucki is the daughter of the famous painter and sculptor of Polish origin Jean Lambert-Rucki. In 1920, Jean Lambert-Rucki married Monique Bickel, herself a student of the sculptor Rodin. After her half-sister Léano, Théano, known as Mara RUCKI, was born on April 7, 1920. The artist grew up in an environment of artists who admired a father who held numerous exhibitions from 1925 until the end of his life. He carried out numerous commissions throughout Europe (construction sites in Alsace, Canada, Belgium, the USA, etc.) and for churches (major renovations after the Great War), participated in the great Sacred Art event or collaborated with Jacques-Emile Ruhlmann and Jean Dunand during the International Exhibition of Decorative Arts in Paris in 1925. From 1930, he became one of the pioneers of Modern Sacred Art. Mara Lucki drew on this paternal sensitivity, which she made her own, and happily devoted herself to painting. Her works are original and strong. With her brushes, she conveys a kind of light that shines through her paintings, some of which are reminiscent of Hieronymus Bosch. This very beautiful work, an oil on canvas from the 1970s, depicts a boat and is entitled "The Blue Boat". The artist's signature is visible at the bottom right of the composition.
