Superb pair of slightly ivory white porcelain potpourris dating from the end of the 19th century beginning of the 20th century probably by the Samson factory.
in the spirit of the shape of ginger pots known for several centuries they have the particularity of including a decoration applicable in very high relief with floral motifs: the branches, leaves and flowers are applied on the pots and stand out in very high relief with a very beautiful quality of execution.
in fact the decoration is rotating and we have the impression of seeing decorations of leafy and flowery branches on the edge. the top of the pots form a decoration of melon ribs pierced with holes for the perfume at regular intervals.
The holes that we find in the lids decorated with the same floral decorations.
two potpourris are in very good condition there are some small tiny lacks at the level of leaves or petals but it is very little visible.
on the other hand One of the two pots has been pierced and then resealed and the other is intact. These two potpourris are superb and offer a very beautiful decoration.
I have already encountered a similar model by Samson but in a smoother and more orientalist or even Japanese decoration but they remain difficult to find in such a beautiful state of conservation.
