Castle Sheet In Linen Thread White Embroidery – Embroidered Count’s Crown – 19th Century Nap III
This ceremonial sheet in pure linen of the highest quality is a rare piece, intended for a prestigious bedroom or a collector of antique linen. Woven in a dense, fine and supple fabric, it is distinguished by sumptuous white embroidery executed by hand over the entire width of the return, measuring 115 cm. The decoration, entirely hand-embroidered, consists of a majestic count's crown, surmounting a floral medallion decorated with foliage, floral garlands and arabesques in relief, in a symmetrical style typical of the end of the 19th century. The refined ladder stitching and hand-sewn finishes testify to noble trousseau work, probably from an aristocratic estate. The sheet is in perfect condition, apart from a very discreet pulled thread in one of the holes, without incidence. ???? Period: circa 1870–1890 ???? Material: Pure old linen thread ????
