A beautiful and decorative 19th century gilt bronze and marble desk or library clock in the form of a fluted column base, on its animated base in white Carrara marble decorated with chiseled bronze motifs resting on a base with six pretty feet, themselves presented on a richly ornamented carved gilt wood base highlighting this pretty "Curiosity" piece; the painted enamel dial decorated with garlands of Arabic numerals and elegantly supported by this column base with sides decorated with finely retouched scrolls giving it a proud appearance, at the top in a Louis XVI style knot the quiver decorated with a fall of flowering foliage, this piece is in very good condition, the time indicated by beautiful chiseled bronze hands, this clock has all the charm of the 18th century and has a beautiful cylinder movement in good condition, preserved like all this pretty so-called alcove clock not devoid of charm....
