Baluster-shaped pewter pitcher with flared foot, quarter-round cup and five-ray palmette thumb rest. It is decorated with turned threads.
Control mark: crowned C / MONTBARD / 1691.
Mark of Michel 1st MARECHAL received master around 1773: crowned hammer / MM / 1779.
Capacity: 0.818 liters
Height: 21.7 cm.
MONTBARD (Burgundy), End of the 18th century


In very good condition and of extremely rare provenance Sixth example encountered in the last 40 years… Three are reproduced in the catalog of the exhibition at the Hôtel-Dieu de BEAUNE in 2007.
