JAPAN - Edo period (1603 - 1868). Complete samurai armor. KABUTO with twenty riveted lamellas in wrought iron. THEHEN NO ANA (opening at the top) in gilded copper with four steps. SHIKORO (neck cover) with four steps, gold lacquered and blue silk braiding. MABI SA SHI (the visor) in wrought iron covered with deerskin decorated with geometric patterns. FUKIGAESHI (the fins) in gold lacquer, the elders in deerskin decorated with geometric patterns and bearing the mon of the Mimura clan. MAEDATE in carved, gilded and red lacquered wood depicting a dragon. MEMPO (samurai half-mask) in black lacquered wrought iron, pronounced chin, mobile nose, pierced nostrils, visible teeth and horsehair mustache, red lacquered interior, sweat hole under the chin, decorated with the mon of another clan. YODARE-KAKE (gorget) with four gold lacquered degrees and blue silk braiding. DO (breastplate) with four lacquered lamellae decorated with gold leafy and floral scrolls on a black background and the mon of the Mimura clan. TAKAHIMO decorated with the clan of the Mimura mon. SODE (shoulder guards) with seven gold lacquered degrees and blue silk braiding. KOTE (arm guards) in chainmail and gold lacquered iron plates. KUSAZURI (skirt) and HAIDATE (cuissards) with five rows gold lacquered and blue silk braiding. SUNEATE (greaves) in bright gold lacquered iron plates, fabric and leather.
