Beautiful work by the Marseille painter Ange Supparo which represents a mas under the sun of a summer day, in the surroundings of Marseille or Porquerolles where the artist liked to paint. The artist plays on the play of light and contrasts.
Student at the Ecole des beaux-arts de Marseille, Ange Supparo frequented various salons: those of French artists and the Société nationale des beaux-arts de la mer. He became official painter of the Ministry of Colonies, he settled in Madagascar where he founded in 1913 the school of fine arts of Tananarive.
