This pill or kohl box is entirely handcrafted, both on the lid and on the sides.
Description
The lid is decorated with a floral decoration in relief, enhanced in its center by a turquoise cabochon stone, probably of local origin, set with prongs. A twisted frieze surrounds the main motif, bringing elegance and volume to the composition.
The sides are engraved with stylized floral motifs, typical of Ottoman iconography.
The inside of the box retains a beautiful old patina, with a small hallmark visible on the bottom.
The clasp and hinge are original and in good working order, making it both an aesthetic and functional object.
