"English Regulation Pistol "
We present this English cavalry pistol NEW LAND 1802, initially this pistol is flintlock, it was modernized and transformed into a piston, was this done in a regulatory or civil way. I think regulatory like some 1822 in French weapons, in any case for the rest it is very complete with all its punches and markings including under the brass trigger guard. This weapon is attributed to the 101st Light Dragoons which became in 1806 the 1st Hussar Regiment. So it would seem that it is a New Land Pattener 1802 pistol, the pusher behind the plate is an articulated safety, this pusher was added on models after the PATTERN 1799. Note that this pistol is absolutely in its original condition, the hammer screw is broken inside and a small restoration is to be expected. At the end of the butt the fittings are in brass. This regulation pistol should be for the English collector market.(E25)
