"Jardinière In Precious Wood Marquetry, Napoleon III Period – Mid-19th Century"
Oval-shaped planter with its original stopper featuring a beautiful marquetry of amboyna burl and rosewood. The lid, decorated with light wood and stained wood, forms diamond patterns in the center. On each side, this lid has small bronze handles. The opening of this small piece of furniture is highlighted by an openwork gallery representing wavelets. All around this planter we observe a gorge in amboyna burl highlighted by a bronze ingot mold. The marquetry belt is decorated with floral bronze fittings transforming into falls on the stained wood feet. The latter are animated and held by an inlaid spacer with concave sides and surrounded by bronze rods. *********Period: Mid-19th centuryPerfect condition after restoration.
