Each armchair has:
• "folder" shaded backrest
• Convertible legs and carved headband with floral motifs
• Rich mission gold plating with irregular patina and period marks
• Crimson red velvet upholstery, partly redone in the 20th century, partly worn (see photo)
The general state is structurally solid, but:
• Two armchairs show advanced upholstery wear

Notes on authenticity
The floral carving, proportions, construction and patina suggest an eighteenth-century production, but no written expertise is available. They are sold as "attributable to the eighteenth century", with subsequent reworks, in particular:
• Redoing of the fabric (in part)
• Possible shooting on gold plating
