"Tunic Bamiléké Culture 19th Century"
Square tunic of the Bamiléké culture (Bamanda chiefdom region) composed of six strips of plant fiber cloth, approximately 4000 small tufts of human hair forming small balls were fixed along the entire length of the strips on both sides. In use, this garment, whose pattern refers to the leopard's robe, completed the mask representing a feline, the emblematic animal of the secret societies closest to political power. A similar model is preserved at the Quai Branly Museum
