Gabriel Marie André Drageon (1873–1935), born in Toulon, was appointed Official Painter of the Navy in 1925. A student of Casimir Raymond, he exhibited from 1908 at the Salon des Artistes Français and distinguished himself with his seascapes of great finesse. He remained attached to his region of origin, where he found his main subjects of inspiration. His work is part of the French figurative tradition of the early 20th century, with a predilection for coastal and maritime views, often captured on the spot, good condition. Perfectly preserved work, some foxing, framed under glass in an antique gilded carved wooden frame. No losses or creases.
