"Mario Galanti (naples 1923 – 1998) Ligurian Marina – Tellaro, The Church Of San Giorgio."
Superb marine scene with poetic realism: fishing boats returning to the gentle surf, conversations between sailors on the foreshore, green and blue transparencies of the Mediterranean. In the center, the rocky promontory bears the hamlet and the small church of San Giorgio, recognizable by its slender bell tower with its red hat, an emblematic motif of Tellaro (Golfo dei Poeti, Liguria). The distant capes dissolve in an afternoon light, typical of Mediterranean coastal views. Italian marine painter, Mario Galanti is part of the neo-Posillipo tradition: fishing scenes, twilight glows and shores of the Mediterranean (Bay of Naples, Amalfi Coast and Liguria). His production is regularly auctioned in Italy and France. Signed lower left Dimensions 70 x 50 cm Good original general condition (slight signs of use related to age; canvas well stretched).
