Memento Mori In Carved Horn
Representation of a human skull carved in horn. Most often called Memento mori in Latin, remember that you will die in French, this sculpture identifies an artistic symbol reminding us that death remains inevitable. This memory of mortality remains present in many civilizations; as much in the secular as in the religious mind. A collector's item, a curiosity, it is made from a single piece of patinated horn, essentially brown with some lighter parts. Little wear, small natural defects of the horn. I tested the material, no doubt: it is keratin. Delivery: 10€ for mainland France.
