Object description :

"Theater Costume 19th Century Fabric Train Dress "
Looking like it came straight out of Emile Zola's Au Bonheur des Dames, here is a large dress with a train made with pretty 19th century fabrics, circa 1880 - 1900: taffeta, embroidery and glass beaded black beads. "Balloon" shoulders, puffy effect. Inside lining, a later green silk petticoat.

Probably a theater or cinema costume, made by a costume designer in the second half of the 20th century (some internal seams are manual or made with a sewing machine, zipper on the back and under the left armpit to facilitate insertion, two press studs at the back of the collar, late elements).

Height: 1.65 - 1.70 m
