"The Ring of the Nibelung" Maurice de Vries. Dutch surrealist painter (1910-1994). Exceptional and surrealist composition "The Ring of the Nibelung" in French, is a cycle of four operas by Richard Wagner, inspired by Germanic and Nordic mythology, and particularly by the Song of the Nibelungen, a Germanic epic poem from the Middle Ages. Here, we find the portrait of Richard Wagner in a medallion on the butt of the sword. The other symbolic representations relate the mythological facts of the four operas.
