Silver Spectacles, Netherlands, Early 19th Century, Period Painted Tin Case

Beautiful flat oval-shaped glasses box with lid, made from black and gold lacquered tin, formerly tinned, containing a pair of silver glasses hallmarked 1814 or later, and the eyeglass maker's mark.
These glasses have the characteristic shape of 1820s/30s.
Temples are straight, butfold two-thirds to follow outline of ears. They have their original magnifying lenses.
They have had a long life of wear and adjustments. Openwork tips of temples have been refilled, and some screws are osteoarthritis.
