Earthenware pitcher with a spherical body, pedestal and long flared neck, fitted with a handle, and a pewter lid with a "ball" thumb rest. Cobalt blue monochrome decoration of a bird in an architectural and wooded landscape.
Decorator's initials on the outside bottom: IA
Height; 26 cm.
ANSBACH or HANAU, Mid-18th century

Good condition, very slight chips at the base of the pedestal and two enamel chips at the top of the handle and a crack at the thumb rest stem are noted.
