"View Of A Village In Tunisia By Omer Coppens "
View of the entrance to a village in Tunisia in 1926. This pretty little painting, painted in pointillist technique on panel, shows us a man sitting on his donkey, carrying the fruit of his harvest. The beautiful, well-contrasted colors convey the mildness of the Tunisian climate. Omer Coppens (1864-1926) was a student at the Academy of Fine Arts in Ghent. He was a founding member of the circle "Pour l'Art." He participated in the Universal Exhibition in Brussels in 1910.
