Pair of Candlesticks with Lions' Shanks in chiseled and gilded bronzes, 19th century. The top with a molded socket with its removable gadrooned bobeche, richly molded and decorated with palmettes and a basin in the shape of a crown with vine leaves, fruits and flowers. Antique Column in the shape of a baluster base decorated with acanthus leaves and on a molded and ridged shower foot, fluted column top with capital. Rests on tripod legs with lion's shanks and claw feet covered with acanthus leaves and palmettes. The whole rests on a terrace with concave sides and flat angles. Condition report: Beautiful original Mercury gilding in two matte and shiny tones, very well preserved. Traces of use and age. High quality, very detailed and fine chiseling. 19th century Restoration period circa 1820. Dimensions: Height 24 cm. Base: Width 11 cm x 11 cm. Private collection of an amateur in Fontainebleau.
