Meiji period (1868-1912)
Late 19th century
Four-tiered display cabinet, composed of drawers, shelves, niches, panels and sliding doors closed by Shoji latticework, inspired by traditional house doors
The two central niches are movable, can be left inside the cabinet or placed outwards (open width 95 cm, closed width 63 cm)
Very beautiful Hakone-Yosegi-Zaizu marquetry work, with geometric patterns made of different types of wood
The fittings and drawer entrances are ornate
A Shodhana cabinet is a very complex piece of furniture intended to display precious objects
Good general condition, very good condition of the marquetry, magnificent patina, tiny losses, traces of use
The two doors on the upper level are missing and note, a loss also on one of the small latticework doors
